This superb 11-night summer voyage cruises north to Kirkenes, before turning south to sail back to Bergen.

Ports visited by night on the northbound voyage are seen by day on the southbound journey, ensuring that passengers see the very best of the dramatic Norwegian coastline. Sailing into the breathtaking Geirangerfjord is a definite highlight of this unique summer voyage.

The Land of the Midnight Sun lives up to its name in Summer - brilliant sunshine through the clear Arctic air bathes the shores, fjords, mountains and bays in reds, soft pinks and golden yellows complementing the deep green of the forests. With up to 24 hours of daylight, passengers have plenty of time to experience Norway on exciting optional shore excursions.

Day 4 - Arctic Circle and Lofoten Islands

Crossing the Arctic Circle is one of the highlights of this voyage. The Arctic Circle marks the southern extremity of the polar, 24-hour sunlit day - often referred to as the "Midnight Sun". Near Ornes is picturesque Svartisen with its Tourist Centre, and in Bodo there is the option to take a RIB safari. Late afternoon, the Lofoten Wall appears and the beautiful islands are revealed. In Stamsund, perhaps visit the Lofotr Viking Museum before reaching Svolvaer, the administrative centre of the Lofoten Islands. These islands are renowned for their small fishing villages with their bohemian atmosphere surrounded by majestic granite cliffs and white sandy beaches. Ports visited: Brønnøysund, Sandnessjøen, Nesna, Ørnes, Bodø, Stamsund, Svolvaer

Day 5 - Tromso

During the night we pass the magnificent Trollfjord and sail through the spectacular and narrow Raftsund strait. Summer excursions include kayaking in the tranquil waters surrounding Tromso and a whale watching trip. Ports visited: Stokmarknes, Sortland, Risøyhamn, Harstad, Finnsnes, Tromsø, Skjervøy

Day 6 - Honningsvag and the North Cape

Today we arrive in Honningsvåg, the starting point of our excursion to the spectacular North Cape, the northernmost point of mainland Europe. From the fishing village of Kjøllefjord there is the opportunity to get a "Taste of Lapland", meeting a real Sámi family. Ports visited: Øksfjord, Hammerfest, Havøysund, Honningsvåg, Kjøllerfjord, Mehamn, Berlevåg

Day 7 - Kirkenes

The vistas and sea life become more dramatic as we approach Kirkenes, just a few kilometres from the Russian border and the Sami communities of Northern Scandinavia. Summer in Kirkenes is superb with 30°C temperatures at its hottest. The town is known as the capital of the Barents Region and the gateway to the east, with people here speaking Norwegian, Sámi, Finnish and Russian. As we turn south, the northbound ports previously visited by night are now seen by day. Ports visited: Båtsfjord, Vardø, Vadsø, Kirkenes, Berlevåg

Day 8 - Hammerfest and Tromso

Start the day with a summer breakfast at the North Cape Hall (optional excursion), which is firmly perched on the massive cliff marking the northernmost tip of mainland Europe. Ports visited: Mehamn, Kjøllefjord, Honningsvåg, Havøysund, Hammerfest, Øksfjord, Skjervøy, Tromsø

Day 9 - Vesteralen and Lofoten Islands

Perhaps join a fantastic safari by RIB-boat through the Lofoten archipelago under the Midnight Sun! Ports visited: Tromsø,Finnsnes, Harstad, Risøyhamn, Sortland, Stokmarknes, Svolvaer, Stamsund

Day 11 - Trondheim - Kristiansund

We arrive in Trondheim in the early morning. Nidaros Cathedral, in which three Queens and seven Kings have been crowned, is Scandinavia's largest medieval building and worth a visit. The town of Kristiansund, located on the scenic Atlantic Road, holds the rather obscure title of Norway's 'cured cod capital' owing to the nature of its main export.

Day 12 - Bergen - UK

Our arrival in Bergen sees the end of this magnificent journey and it's time to say "pågjensyn" (until we meet again) to friends, fellow passengers and our crew. Transfer to Bergen airport for your return flight to the UK.
