Informality
There is a relaxed, friendly atmosphere on board. Our aim is to get away from traditional cruise ship entertainment and get closer to the unique natural environments we cruise through. There is no formal evening entertainment although films and presentations may be shown to enhance your voyage through Norwegian coastal life.
Cuisine
Fresh, seasonal ingredients and local produce are used to plan menus to satisfy healthy appetites stimulated by the fresh sea air. Open seating for buffet breakfast and lunch creates a relaxed setting to chat with new friends. Contemplate the day’s experiences over set dinner at your reserved table in our fully licensed restaurants.
Excursions
A multi-lingual tour leader is on board to assist you with your shore excursion bookings if you have not pre-booked them before departure. The Reception Desk is open 24 hours a day.
Comfort on board
The newer ships all have a lift, small library and café serving snacks 24-hours a day. Some of the ships have Jacuzzis and a fitness room.
Currency
Norwegian currency is used on board and most major currencies can be exchanged. Visa, American Express, Mastercard and Diners Cards are all accepted. A cruise card can be used for any additional purchases on board and can be settled at the end of the voyage.
Tipping
Hurtigruten has a non-tipping policy, although if you feel crew members should be rewarded for exceptional service, this is at your discretion.
