Escape over the May Bank Holiday joining Marco Polo cruising from Bristol Avonmouth to the Norwegian Coast. See the ever-changing vista of towering mountains, tumbling waterfalls and snow-capped peaks of along the rugged coastline.

Bergen, known as the 'Gateway to the Fjords', is Norway's second largest city. Perhaps take the funicular ride to the summit of Mount Floien for panoramic views or stroll around the colourful Bryggen wharf. Visit Olden, a charming village set against steep, thickly wooded peaks before cruising Nordfjord and Geirangerfjord.

Surrounded by towering mountains is the tiny village of Flam which has just 500 inhabitants. It began being a popular tourist destination in the late 19th century with the arrival of steamships carrying English and German passengers, including royals who were attracted by the salmon fishing. Cruise through Sognefjord to Stavanger which today is the 'Oil Capital of Norway.

This cruise concludes in Cardiff where there is an optional coach transfer to Bristol.

Day 1 - Bristol Avonmouth (UK)

Embark Marco Polo in Bristol Avonmouth.

Day 2 - 3 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 4 - Bergen (Norway)

Bergen is beautifully located against a backdrop of seven mountains. Perhaps take the funicular ride to the summit of Mount Floien for panoramic views of Bergen, or explore the traditional wooden buildings of the colourful Bryggen wharf which house souvenir shops.

Day 5 - Olden

The village of Olden is situated at the end of the innermost arm of the mighty Nordfjord. Steep mountains tower on both sides of the valley, making the village of Olden one of the most charming and idyllic in Western Norway with the opportunity to visit the Briksdal Glacier.

Day 6 - Geiranger

Geiranger has grown into one of Norway’s most popular tourist resorts. From here, mountain roads wind their way up to panoramic views that are breathtaking.

Day 7 - Flåm

The village of Flam is surrounded by towering mountains and nestled at the head of Aurlandsfjord. In the late 19th century, royals were attracted by the salmon fishing in the Flam River. Today, visitors flock to Flam for the opportunity to ride on the world famous railway, a masterpiece of engineering. Later, cruise Sognefjord.

Day 8 - Stavanger

Stavanger is a modern city and known as the "Oil Capital of Norway". Explore the picturesque old part with is 18th century wooden houses or admire the impressive Anglo-Norman style cathedral. Optional excursions are available, including a visit to the Iron Age Farm at Ullanhaug.

Day 9 - 10 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 11 - Cardiff

Disembark Marco Polo in Cardiff.
