This superb cruise on Astoria at Easter uncovers Norway's beautiful fjords, stunning scenery and pretty villages.

Spend a day in the historic port of Dunkirk then sail to the small village of Rosendal which is home to Baroniet Rosendal, a small manor whose gardens are filled with colourful flowers. Cruise Hardangerfjord to quaint Flam, renowned for its famous railway which meanders through breathtaking mountain scenery, before heading to Olden where optional excursions feature the mighty Briksdal Glacier.

Spend Good Friday in historic Bergen and perhaps take the opportunity to ride to the summit of Mount Floien for panoramic views, or head to the famous Bryggen Wharf. Easter Sunday is spent relaxing on board Astoria en-route back to Poole.

Fjordland Splendour Itinerary

Day 1 - Poole (UK)

Embark Astoria in Poole.

Day 2 - Dunkirk (France)

Dunkirk has the third largest harbour in France and is world famous due to the heroic evacuation of Allied troops. Fascinating museums in the town include the Musée Portuaire which examines the history of the port and The Musée des Beaux-Arts which is home to many Flemish, Italian and French paintings and sculptures.

Day 3 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 4 - Rosendal (Norway)

The small village of Rosendal is surrounded by soaring mountains and its main attraction is Baroniet Rosendal, a small manor whose gardens are filled with flowers. It lies just six miles from the dramatic Folgefonna glacier which is one of the highlights of Folgefonna National Park. Later, cruise the UNESCO-listed Hardangerfjord.

Day 5 - Flåm

The village of Flam is surrounded by towering mountains and nestled at the head of Aurlandsfjord. In the late 19th century, royals were attracted by the salmon fishing in the Flam River. Today, visitors flock to Flam for the opportunity to ride on the world famous railway, a masterpiece of engineering. Later, cruise Sognefjord.

Day 6 - Olden

The village of Olden is situated at the end of the innermost arm of the mighty Nordfjord. Steep mountains tower on both sides of the valley, making the village of Olden one of the most charming and idyllic in Western Norway with the opportunity to visit the Briksdal Glacier. Later, cruise Nordfjord.

Day 7 - Bergen

Bergen is beautifully located against a backdrop of seven mountains. Perhaps take the funicular ride to the summit of Mount Floien for panoramic views of Bergen, or explore the traditional wooden buildings of the colourful Bryggen wharf which house souvenir shops.

Days 8-9 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship’s facilities on relaxing days at sea.

Day 10 - Poole (UK)

Disembark Astoria in Poole.
